wxbox (weatherbox) - weather.ax

weather.ax is the home of wxbox, a student-built, free to use weather data visualization tool designed to make real-time and forecast atmospheric data accessible to the general public for free.

wxbox ingests several hundred gigabytes of data daily from a variety of sources and digests it into customizable hardware-accelerated visualizations purpose built for students, researchers, and weather enthusiasts alike.

wxbox3 is currently in a private beta testing period with a small group of users. A full public release is coming soon. If you are interested in joining the beta, email beta (at) weather.ax for more information.

wxbox2 and older versions are no longer supported, but may be found at https://git.e3t.cc/core/wxbox. rtwx is no longer available.

wxbox is operated by students for the public benefit, and is not a commercial venture. we believe that atmospheric data should be visible and accessible to all, without having to navigate complex fee structures or difficult-to-understand data formats.
